After settling in, the rest of the day is free for you to explore the vibrant city that beautifully blends modernity with the richness of culture and history. Day 2: The Famous Golden Circle And Strokkur Geyser

The guide will pick you up early in the morning from the hotel where you’re staying.

From here, your adventurous journey starts. The main Golden Circle attractions include:

• Thingvellir National Park

• Geysir geothermal area

• Gullfoss waterfall

The day starts by visiting Thingvellir National Park, where the Icelandic parliament, Alþingi, was founded in the year 930 AD. The area is geologically remarkable, and the tectonic plate boundaries form breathtaking scenery.

Then we will head to the popular but significantly higher temperature of the water in the geothermal area in Haukadalur. Here, you can observe active geysers very closely. There are many more things to explore, like the Great Geysir, steam vents, and hot springs.

You will continue to the beautiful waterfall, Gullfoss, where you can walk so close to the edge that you might feel the fresh mist of the glacial water on your face. The lunch break is usually at the Gullfoss Cafe, but sometimes there may be a stop for lunch at the Information Center located in the geothermal area around Geysir.

Strokkur Geyser

Then we will head to witness another wonder: Strokkur, Iceland’s most famous geyser, and another wonder located on the Golden Circle route, known for its frequent and impressive irruptions shooting boiling water up to heights of around 15 to 20 meters into the air. The natural beauty of the area is shaped by the forces of the earth; bubbling mud pots, hot springs, steaming vents, and other little geysers are littered around, and the ground itself is dyed vividly by mineral deposits. End the day with dinner at the hotel.

Included:

• Dinner at your accommodation

Day 3: Silfra Fissure

Another day, another adventure. Driving from Reykjavík to Silfra fissure is a short drive, only about 50 minutes through the town of Mosfellsbær and up the valley of Mosfellsdalur, past fields of horses and Lake Þingvallavatn, until making a turn once down to the lower plane of Þingvellir.

Silfra is the only place in Iceland where you can dive between two continents. It was created around 1789 after a massive earthquake along the tectonic plates and was filled up with glacier meltwater from the nearby Langjökull glacier. The water is pristine and clear, as purely reflective as a mirror.

Explore the aquamarine life of the Silfra fissure and witness some incredible rock formations. The four sessions of the fissure are as follows: Deep Silfra Crack, where you can have your photograph taken between two continents—the Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon—has amazing underwater visibility.

You'll get the effortless snorkeling experience of pushing into the depths of clear water while taking in the forces that dictate the world’s geography.

Included:

• Diving and Snorkeling

• Dinner at your accommodation

Day 4: Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon And Diamond Beach

Today’s drive takes you to the most famous destination and a must-visit in Iceland. Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing beauty of Jökulsárlón, the largest glacial lagoon in Iceland. Speckled with light blue and milky-white icebergs, it is a stunning glacier lake in southeast Iceland on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park. The spectacular landscapes have been made famous by many Hollywood films like A View to a Kill, Die Another Day, Batman Begins, and Game of Thrones. Here you can explore stunning blue/green water full of blue, white, and turquoise icebergs, diverse wildlife, and surrounding attractions. No Iceland trip is complete without visiting this beauty.

Next, the journey continues to the famous Diamond Beach, where the group will sail among the floating icebergs on a guided amphibian boat tour to witness sparkling and glistening icebergs resembling diamonds sitting across the shore against the black volcanic sand.

Includes:

• A guided boat tour of the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon

• Continental breakfast buffet at your accommodation

• Dinner at your accommodation

Day 5: Leidarendi Lava Caves

This day we will be exploring one of the best-known lava caves in Iceland, the Leidarendi Lava Cave, located in a lava field close to Bláfjöll, the Blue Mountains, in southwest Iceland, about a 25-minute drive from Reykjavík. Visitors get a chance to explore underground tunnels, chambers, and passages that were formed by ancient volcanic activities. You can witness some spectacular geological formations and get insights into Iceland's volcanic past and the forces that shaped its unique landscapes. These caves are a subterranean fantasyland, combining ancient history with thrilling adventure.

Day 6: Hidden Gems Of The West Coast

Today your guide will take you to explore BreiÐAFJÖRÐUR and Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Snæfellsnes Peninsula is often called "Iceland in Miniature" as it offers such varied landscapes, also featuring the running Snaefellsjokull glacier volcano, surrounded by vast lava fields, picturesque mountain craters, waterfalls, black and white sand beaches, and caves. Witness the spectacular views along the coastline, with rugged rock formations jutting out from the Atlantic waves.

Things we will explore on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula:

1. Arnarstapi and Hellnar: a charming fish village situated along the rugged coastline

2. Snæfellsjökull National Park

3. Stykkishólmur and Breiðafjörður

4. Kirkjufell and Grundarfjörður mountains

Breiðafjörður

Breiðafjörður is a nature reserve and bay between the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and the Westfjords in West Iceland. It is famous for its diverse landscapes, rich history, and captivating natural wonders. Around 3000 islands and rock outlets are littered throughout Breiðafjörður. Very few of these are inhabited year-round; many used to be. Some of the islands are home to old fishing villages, historic lighthouses, and archaeological sites.

Breiðafjörður is also home to diverse wildlife, including seabirds, seals, and marine mammals. Visitors will be delighted by the abundance of species, including puffins, guillemots, and kittiwakes.

Includes:

• Continental breakfast buffet at your accommodation

• Dinner at your

Day 7: Almannagjá Gorge

Today, the guide will take tourists to walk along the Almannagjá gorge and experience the menacing feel of the enormous rock walls that tower on either side. It was formed by the earthquake that released the tension between two plates. It appears like a stunning, narrow valley that is at the tip of the tectonic plate of North America and Europe. You can enjoy this 8-kilometer-long hiking challenge with spectacular landscape views.

This place has a significant place in Icelandic history. As you walk through the Icelandic valley, you'll see a flag raised in the middle of a rock pile on the Lögberg ("the rock of the law"), where the first Icelandic parliament met. This is the place where new laws were created and old ones were let go. The law speaker would read them outstandingly on a high rock, and his voice would echo in the cliffs. Running through the Almannagjá gorge is the Öxará, a river that leads to Öxarárfoss, a beautiful waterfall whose crystalline waters contrast perfectly against the black rocks.

Includes:

• guided hiking tour

• Continental breakfast buffet at your accommodation

• Dinner at your

Day 8: Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

This day is dedicated to exploring Reynisfjara, which is a black sand beach, found between Vík í Mýrdal village and Dyrhólaey. It is renowned for its dramatic scenery with black sand and powerful waves, and the nearby Reynisdrangar sea stacks make this place a truly unique place to visit and a popular filming location (Game of Thrones, Star Wars, and more). This place is one of the most well-known black-sanded beaches in the whole world. Take in some magnificent views but do not stand too close; those masterful waves deserve your respect and can be quite dangerous if you get too close.

Then we will head to explore Hálsanefshellir Cave, a large sea cave carved into the cliffs of Reynisfjara, providing shelter from the elements and offering unique photo opportunities

Includes:

• Icelandic cuisine at lunch

• Dinner at your

FAQs

Should I extend my tour by further nights, would my transfers be covered as well?

Yes, airport transfers to and from Keflavík Airport are always included when you purchase your Iceland tour with Iceland Package. Depending on your plan, this will either be a private, shared, or bus transport. To confirm, kindly review the tour's specifics. We will reschedule your transfers to match your updated itinerary if you decide to stay longer than the planned number of nights.

If you have any special questions concerning extracurricular activities or services, don't be afraid to contact your travel consultant.

Is it possible for me to bring my kids on this tour?

It is not advised for families with little children due to the nature of the tour and the activities included. Nevertheless, it is appropriate for active, well-traveled kids 12 years of age or older. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

How much baggage is allowed on the bus?

We must restrict the size and quantity of bags in the bus to ensure the comfort of you and your fellow passengers.

Each visitor may bring one large suitcase or bag to put in the minibus' rear and one smaller item (such as a daypack or backpack) to carry inside the van for everyday necessities like a wallet, camera, medicine, and other items. Regretfully, the overhead racks in the van cannot accommodate the size of carry-on suitcases, sometimes known as cabin bags.

Your travel adviser from Iceland Package will be happy to help if you have any questions about luggage.

What degree of fitness is required for this tour?

A few strolls in the outdoors are part of this schedule. This implies that you have to be fit and ready to walk three to five kilometers (one to three miles) every day. Additionally, you must be able to carry your own belongings into each hotel and into the minibus.

What can I expect from the glacier lagoon boat trip?

Take an amphibian boat ride and cruise the breathtaking Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, which is home to numerous gigantic icebergs. The tour lasts about forty minutes and includes an English-speaking guide. Together with interesting facts about the surrounding geology, they will share with you information about the lagoon.

Every passenger will be given a life jacket, which they are required to wear the entire cruise. Please be aware that in April there is no boat tour accessible to the glacier lagoon. Rather, the group will eat a complimentary lunch together in the vicinity.
